WHITE

Hey there, apologies, i havent written in ages but i have been a busy bunny.

Today i wanna talk about whites; crisp, elegant, sharp and maybe even offensively neutral. So whats the big idea?

Whites first of all go with anything any colour shape or pattern. but even better wear white on its own. solo. Summer is kicking in, (sorry to make another regular referral to the weather) and gone are the days of your beautiful cream cashmere, trench and ugg(ly) boots. For summer you want to be cool and we all know that to stay cool (pun intended) you wear white. But beofre we delve deeper into the mysterious colour called white let me give you some easy (yet topical) listening for while you read.

if you feel like being vastly original drink WHITE milk whilst listening/reading. I would.

RED LIP

luscious thick juicy scrumptious full beautiful glamorous power cheap. All the words that come to mind when you think of a red lip. not just a red lip but a bright red lip. filled in perfectly in a beautiful red, the *perfect* red. That is my idea today.

Anyway. being the whore i am.. haha, i was watching the secret diary of a call girl. The main character Belle/Hannah is played by Billie Piper who is one of the most beautiful women i have come across. Anyway, being a call girl, alot of the time she is sporting the red lip, so i was inspired.. simple really.

The red lip is so many things, in some ways it is quite feminist and such a statement, its powerful and perhaps scares men off or entices them, but hey, lust isnt always the aim here. some girls just wanna look stylish right? yeah thought so. Anyway here are a few little things f.y.i ...

this year at the beach.. (and in town) i am going for a washed out look.. almost grunge and acidic. This means faded neons for that ultra cool modern vibe.. ripped denim, beautiful summer highlights, the taste of salt on your tongue, white crochet/lace and chipped nail varnish. RIPPLE RUFFLE RIBBON

HELLO.

Summer is quite literally in the air, every year we face great excitement as sun spreads its juice across the sky and clouds unsuccessfully go into hiding. And come summer or winter something we all want is a bit of luxury, just a bit - and a flourishing way to acheive this is ruffling. Its strange since six months ago i hated ruffling - its ugly and makes people look a bit silly and stuck up. But in this day and age (thats 2011...) it goes down perfectly, with this years block colour summer trend, looks beautiful and interesting in whites and cropped or tailored looks. so it all fits in very nicely.

Now dont get me wrong, this look is very wearable but can quite easily go wrong. There are a variety of ways to wear it..

a) a pretty style - innocent white and pale colours in all textures, chiffon is good and very graceful

b) out there- use bold colours and outright pleating and ruffles

c) quirky- deep purples and midnight blues use texture and ruffling to create a wavy sea affect. go nuts!
